Sorry about the delay, I’m still in a summer state of mind and have no clue what day it is. In light of our studies focusing on World War II for this semester, I was thinking about Night and the first time I read it. Night by Elie Wiesel was required for my 9th grade english class and though I had learned about the Holocaust many times before, the personal perspective changed the way that I understood many of the events. It’s a dark topic, and I know that I can never truly understand the pain that most families experienced put in Wiesel’s shoes, but it reminded me of how important reading is and why it’s so vital that people write and retell their stories. Through books we are able to not only learn about events but have a new form of understanding as to what it might have been like to be a part of that event. I would highly recommend Night to anyone, and I know that it’s on a bunch of those “books you must read before you die” lists.

Sorry about the length and broadness today!

Happy Reading!!
